Once you are an ABM Member, here is how to maximize your results:
1. Organize and optimize your ABM Without Borders attendance.
1.1. Attend as many ABM Without Borders events and appointments as you can!
We are scheduling a minimum of eight per month.
There are three ways to address your priorities:
A. Attend events with a subject matter that is directly relevant to you. Be proactive. Fill as many of your ten appointment slots as possible, ensuring you secure your A priorities first.
B. Attend events that offer the opportunity to connect with decision-makers that are of interest to you even though the subject matter of the event may not be directly linked to your expertise or goals. Be clear on who you want to connect with and let us help you get the appointments you want.
C. Broaden your scope, obtain valuable market knowledge, and explore connections you would otherwise not prioritize! Be clear in your profile why you are in attendance. You never know what business potential these hidden opportunities hold!
THE GOLDEN ABM RULE!
The earlier you register, the better your results. By registering early, you create a more pronounced presence in the ABM Network and give us more time to bring those to the table who are of interest to you.
1.2. Be active and respect the schedules and business interests of those who want to connect with you.
Respond to incoming appointment requests promptly, do not cancel last minute if you can avoid it, and attend all meetings you agree to. If you do, you develop a reputation for responsive professionalism. If you don’t, you achieve the opposite.
1.3. Pay attention to Christina Croce!
Christina is our Delegate Engagement Manager and it is her job to make sure you are prepared for success. She takes this responsibility very seriously so please do not ghost her. It’s demoralizing for her and not in your interest. Build a relationship with Christina and next to the ABM team member you work with, she will be your strongest ally to increase your ROI or create wins for your community.
1.4. Use your ABM Profile and your ABM Schedule as a flexible tool.
1.2.1. Customize each event profile to drive home what is most important to the audience in each event.
Rather than overwriting information in all of your profiles when you make edits to one, our system retains each profile. This allows you to pick the most relevant one for each registration and then customize it.
Make your profile interesting. Talk about your successes, about values are, keep things fresh, upload a delegate pic, add your bio and show your personality. ABM is about relationships! Communicate what your procurement needs are, even if procurement is not your objective at ABM and your needs are small. Need Bannock mix or coffee? Could use some help researching better cell phone plans? Need branded face masks or mugs? We have an Indigenous supplier for that and your minor need may be their ticket to growth.
If what you do includes or supports revenue-generating business models, be specific!
1.2.2. Maximize the use of your time.
Be engaged and fill all appointment slots proactively at an event of high relevance to you.
At events of lesser relevance, zero in on a specific connection you want to make. Block the remaining appointment slots or leave them open to show your availability for incoming requests.
Communicate with us who you want to connect with, We will let you know what event to register for or we make sure both of you register for the same.
2. How to work with us, your ABM Team.
Distill your goals for your 12-month membership in collaboration with us and then get active support from us to achieve them! Again, ABM is about relationships and not transactions. This includes your relationship with us.
We love short and regular meetings. Most ABMers meet with their team member every four to eight weeks for 30 minutes for a check-in to see how things are progressing and what may be missing.
If you wish to meet with us regularly, let us know what time, day and frequency works best for you and we will send you an Outlook meeting series with a Zoom link. It is easier to change or cancel a meeting in a series than to schedule each one individually.
3. Drive the agenda!
The ABM Without Borders line-up is created in consultation with you based on your needs. Talk to us about creating an ABM Without Borders event that drills down what you want to achieve.
4. Bring a tag team partner!
ABM Members do not pay for a second Without Borders delegate. Hence two members of your team can attend each one. You are more than welcome to bring a person representing a different department of your business or your community.
5. Learn, share and deepen your relationships!
ABM Members attend ABM Uncensored for free. ABM Uncensored is a dialogue forum that prepares the common ground for truly exceptional relationships by gaining a deeper understanding of history and legacy as well as each other’s roles, backgrounds, priorities, and motivations.
6. Share your ABM Membership code with others in your organization.
ABM Members can share their membership with anybody in their organization, no matter what the department or region. This allows the pursuit of whatever broad array of business goals you set.
If this requires us to regularly communicate with different individuals in your organization, let us know who is in charge of and interested in what aspect of your ABM participation. We prefer to have one go-to person for administrative topics and overall communication and coordination but are more than happy to distill ABM goals for each stream of your organization and meet with each person responsible on a regular basis.
7. Amplify your profile and become a member of the ABM Powerhouse.
